Terms of Service

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) ("Shield Carriers," "we," "us," or "our"). Shield Carriers is a software service for U.S. motor carriers that filters unsolicited inbound voice, SMS, and email traffic on a shield phone number and shield email address we set up for you. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

Carrier responsibilities

You must be the authorized representative of a motor carrier in good standing with FMCSA. You must keep MCS-150 and SAFER filings up to date with valid contacts you actually monitor. Shield Carriers is a filter; it is not a substitute for the regulated contact channels you are required to maintain. Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) provides the service on an "as is" basis.

Free trial and cancellation

Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) offers a 7-day free trial that requires no payment card up front, limited to one trial per USDOT number for the life of that USDOT. You may cancel at any time. California law gives California residents the right to cancel online with one click; we extend that one-click online cancellation to customers in all states.

When you cancel, we stop forwarding calls, texts, and emails on your shield number, then keep a 15-day number hold so you can update your filings before the number is released.

Refunds. If you cancel an annual plan part-way through your paid term, you may request a refund of the unused full months remaining; the partial month you are currently in is not refundable. Refund requests are not automatic — Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) reviews each request and, once approved, issues the refund to your original payment method, typically within a few business days. Monthly plans are not refunded for a period you have already paid for. Subscriptions purchased through Apple's in-app purchase are handled by Apple under Apple's own refund policy; request those refunds through your App Store account rather than from us.

Always-allow safety contacts

Regardless of your filter settings, Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) always permits inbound traffic from emergency services (911 and equivalent), federal, state, and local government numbers and domains (including .gov / .mil / DOT / FMCSA / PHMSA), the National Consumer Complaint Database, CHEMTREC and the National Response Center, courts, and process servers we can identify. You cannot disable these allow-throughs.

Number lifecycle

When you cancel, we stop forwarding calls, texts, and emails on your shield number and hold the underlying number for 15 days so you can update your filings, then automatically release it back to Twilio. Ironhorse Logic LLC holds the underlying number during this window to avoid stranding shippers, regulators, and emergency contacts mid-paperwork.

Suspension and termination by us

Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) may suspend or terminate your account for cause — for example, non-payment, a material breach of these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, fraud or other abuse, a payment chargeback, a security or legal risk, or use that endangers other users, our providers, or the public. Where the problem can reasonably be fixed, we will give you notice and a fair chance to cure it before terminating; where the risk is urgent (such as fraud, unlawful use, or a threat to the service), we may suspend access right away.

We may also discontinue Shield Carriers, or end your account for convenience, on at least 30 days' notice to the email address on your account. If we end your account for convenience — or for any reason that is not your fault — we will refund the unused portion of the fees you have prepaid to us; for any subscription billed through Apple's in-app purchase, refunds are handled by Apple under its policies rather than by us.

Because Shield Carriers relies on upstream providers and operates alongside FMCSA-regulated contact channels, we may also have to suspend or end the service for reasons outside our control — for example, if a provider such as Twilio withdraws a number or capability, if your messaging registration is revoked, or if the law or a regulator requires it. We will give you as much advance notice as the circumstances reasonably allow.

However your service ends, the same number lifecycle applies: we stop forwarding on your shield number and hold the underlying Twilio number for 15 days so you can update your FMCSA filings before it is released, and Ironhorse Logic LLC continues to pass through emergency, government, and consumer-complaint contacts during that window.

Mobile app and in-app purchases

Shield Carriers is also available as a mobile app. On iOS you may purchase or change your subscription through Apple's in-app purchase instead of Stripe. When you do, Apple processes the payment and manages the subscription under Apple's own terms, and you cancel or change those plans through your App Store account; Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) receives the resulting purchase and renewal records from Apple to keep your account in sync. The mobile app collects basic device information used for the trial-abuse checks described in our Privacy Policy.

Referral program

Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) may offer a referral program where available. When the program is active and you refer another motor carrier who signs up and becomes a paying customer, both you and the new carrier may receive a credit (currently $25 each where offered; amounts may change). The new carrier's credit is applied to their account balance. When the program is active, your referrer reward accrues to a withdrawable earnings balance once the carrier you referred makes their first successful payment; you may apply it to your own account balance, and, where bank cash-out is offered, you may instead withdraw it to a bank account through Stripe Connect.

Referrals must be genuine. Self-referrals, fake or duplicate accounts, and other abuse are not eligible, and Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) may withhold, reverse, or refuse credits and earnings it believes were obtained improperly. We may change the reward amounts, eligibility rules, or end the referral program at any time.

Acceptable use

You may not use Shield Carriers to evade lawful service of process, ignore regulators or first responders, or impersonate another carrier. Ironhorse Logic LLC (doing business as Shield Carriers) may suspend accounts that materially violate these terms.
