How it works

Protect what you publish on your FMCSA record.

Verify your DOT. Claim a shield phone and email. Publish those on your FMCSA/DOT public record instead of your personal contacts. Then drive. Real loads and inspectors get through. Scraped-list spam does not. The safety allowlist always reaches you.

01

Verify your DOT

You enter your legal business name, USDOT number, the real phone number you actually want spam-protected, and the real email address you want spam-protected. You sign an attestation that you are authorized to act for the business and that your operating authority is in good standing.

  • Takes about a minute. No extra paperwork.
  • We pre-check your USDOT against the public FMCSA SAFER feed so you see your active authority info right there.
  • If your authority isn't active, the system tells you exactly which step to take — and waits until you've taken it.
02

Claim your shield

You pick a plan — Email Shield, Phone Shield, or Full Shield. The shield contacts get provisioned immediately so you can start the next step.

  • Shield phone numbers can be in any US area code.
  • Federal regulators (FMCSA, PHMSA, NCCDB, CHEMTREC) are on a baseline safety allowlist that always rings through.
  • All of .gov and .mil are on the safety allowlist by suffix match.
  • 7-day free trial. No credit card required at signup.
03

Publish the shield where it matters

Publish the shield contacts on your public FMCSA/DOT record — that is the scraped surface where spam pipelines harvest your info. Leave your trusted relationships (insurance agent, bank, COI, existing brokers, family) on your real contacts — Shield doesn't hide you from your business, it hides you from the scrapers.

  • MCS-150 update — copy your shield phone and email from a ready-to-use block and follow our step-by-step guide to update the record yourself on FMCSA's site (sign in with Login.gov, verify your identity once, change the public phone and email).
  • SAFER public listing — once MCS-150 is filed, your shield contacts replace your personal ones on the public lookup.
  • BOC-3 process agent and load board profiles — your call; the shield numbers can go there too, but the FMCSA record is the priority.
  • Insurance COI, bank, factoring, accountant — keep your real contacts on these.
04

Drive, we filter

Now the shield is up. Every call, text, and email that hits your shield contacts runs through the filter. The safety allowlist always rings through. Senders on your allow list always ring through. Spam does not. You see every event in the dashboard.

  • Voice, SMS, and email each have their own mode: block all, filter, or allow all.
  • Change modes instantly — useful when you want quiet hours.
  • Promote any new contact to your allow list with one tap.
  • Block any contact permanently with one tap.

The always-on list

These can never be blocked.

The safety allowlist is the only setting in Shield Carriers that cannot be turned off. Not by you. Not by us. Not by anyone. Even if you set every channel to block-all and walked away from the dashboard for a week, these contacts would still reach you.

What happens on every incoming call.

  1. 1Call hits your shield phone number.
  2. 2Number is checked against the safety allowlist. Match? Ring through immediately, log the event.
  3. 3Number is checked against your allow list. Match? Ring through, log the event.
  4. 4Number is checked against your block list. Match? Hang up, log the event.
  5. 5Number is checked against known spam patterns (factoring, insurance pitch, robocall, scam-likely). Match? If you're in filter mode, hang up. If you're in allow-all, ring through.
  6. 6Unknown number with no match? If you're in filter mode, the caller is asked to press 1 to connect — real callers press 1 and ring through, while robocallers don't and the call is disconnected. If you're in block-all, they're declined.

The 15-day number hold

Cancellation, with no surprises.

When you cancel a paid Phone Shield or Full Shield plan, the shield phone number stays held for 15 days so you can update your FMCSA record and anywhere else it is published. Resubscribe in that window and you keep the same number. After 15 days the number is released. The 15-day number hold does not apply to unpaid trials that end without converting, and Email Shield has no number to hold.

Ready when you are.
